Parsons is in line for a new deal, and it’s almost a certainty he’ll get it from Cowboys owner Jerry Jones because, frankly, Parsons deserves it.
Yet, Cowherd has managed to throw out one of the most questionable opinions of the offseason. In the world where controversial opinions are often seen as the best, Cowherd insists the Cowboys shouldn’t be concerned about paying Parsons top-tier money.
Yes, this is a real statement from a person who works in sports media. Cowherd even went as far as claiming Parsons isn’t even a top-five edge rusher in the NFL.

But here’s the thing: There’s no argument to be had here. Parsons is undeniably one of the best defensive players in the league right now. Anything other than that is just someone trying to create unnecessary controversy.
Last season, despite missing three games due to injury, Parsons still recorded 12 sacks, marking his fourth consecutive season with double-digit sacks. And let’s not forget, he’s only been in the league for four years. Looks like Cowherd missed the mark on this one.
