UAB freshman Brogan McNab could emerge as a factor at receiver this season
UAB freshman wide receiver Brogan McNab is beginning to attract attention as a player who could contribute to the Blazers’ offense this season. During a recent two-minute drill at UAB practice, McNab showed the kind of playmaking ability the coaching staff hopes he can bring to the field this fall.
With the offense facing a third-down situation inside the red zone, quarterback Ryder Burton looked toward the middle of the field and spotted McNab working across the defense. The freshman rose above the coverage and made an impressive contested catch, giving UAB a crucial touchdown just before the practice session came to an end. For UAB, McNab’s emergence could be especially important because the team has dealt with a significant number of injuries since spring practice. Those injuries have continued to affect the roster during preseason camp, creating opportunities for younger players to step into larger roles.
As available numbers at receiver have decreased, McNab has continued to make the most of his opportunities.
