NC State’s 2027 recruiting class continues to gain momentum under head coach Dave Doeren. The latest addition is Georgia offensive lineman Jacob Burns, a highly regarded three-star prospect who became the Wolfpack’s 15th verbal commitment.
Burns is the fourth player to join the class since Sunday, following pledges from safety Alex Scott, defensive lineman Amir Moore, and offensive lineman Colt Hauser.
Offensive line coach Garett Tujague has played a major role in the class’s success, securing commitments from four offensive linemen, all from outside North Carolina. Three of those linemen rank among the seven highest-rated commitments in the class. Four-star quarterback Gunner Rivers and four-star safety KJ Caldwell currently headline the group as its top-rated prospects.
NC State has also made significant recruiting inroads in Georgia and Florida, with nine commitments coming from those two talent-rich states. The Wolfpack currently sit at No. 33 in the 247Sports Composite team rankings, a position that would rank among the stronger recruiting classes of the Doeren era if maintained through signing day. For comparison, NC State’s previous two classes both finished outside the national top 45.
